The head of the city’s parks and recreation division will be taking on a new role that includes overseeing the city’s sanitation services, city announced Wednesday in a shakeup within the city’s Public Works Department.

Shonnda Smith, who joined the city in 2019, was announced as the Executive Director of Public Services, a role that will have her overseeing the city’s sanitation services, Parks & Recreation, City Events and the Office of Strategic Initiatives.
