Mobile RN, former Miss Mississippi, weds in Biloxi — with Lee Greenwood performing
It’s not every day a tent full of wedding guests are led in a rousing rendition of “God Bless the USA” by none other than Lee Greenwood himself.
But that’s the scene that played out last weekend at the White House Hotel in Biloxi, according to WLOX.
Bailey (Anderson) Garriga is a former Miss Mississippi USA and a registered nurse in the neonatal unit at Providence Hospital in Mobile. She and Will Garriga were married last Saturday at the hotel on U.S. 90 on the Biloxi beachfront.
Garriga won the Miss Mississippi USA crown in 2021. The native of Hurley, Miss., graduated from East Central High School in Jackson County, Miss., and the University of West Alabama.
According to the report, the couple met when they were only 13 and students in middle school.
Her participation in the Miss USA pageant allowed Garriga to form friendships with other contestants, including Kim Greenwood, Lee Greenwood’s wife who is a former Miss Tennessee USA and current director of the Miss Georgia USA, Miss Tennessee USA and Miss Mississippi USA pageants.
In addition to Lee Greenwood performing his theme song at the reception, the Garrigas’ wedding featured 17 bridesmaids, including numerous pageant royalty: Miss Rhode Island USA, Miss Tennessee USA, Miss Maryland USA, Miss South Carolina USA and two former Miss Mississippi Teen USA winners.
