A Mobile police officer shot a male Saturday night, authorities said Sunday.

The shooting occurred around 8:46 p.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of Dawes Road, said Mobile police spokesman Blake Brown.

Police did not disclose the male’s name, age, or condition, but Brown said he was treated at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear as of Sunday morning.

Brown said the department expects to release more information Monday on the shooting.
