Police are continuing to investigate an incident last week that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist after being struck by a patrol vehicle.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Zeigler Boulevard and Cody Road in Mobile on March 29 at around 7 p.m.

The man driving the motorcycle, Robert Sayen, 67, was taken to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Multiple local news outlets are reporting that the officer, whose name has not been released by authorities, has been placed on administrative duty while the investigation takes place.

Sayen’s family has a live GoFundMe with a goal of $2,500 to go toward funeral and memorial services.
