The Mobile Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after a man died from injuries he sustained during a shooting earlier this week.

According to the department, the victim was identified as Cordell Robinson, 46.

Robinson was shot Tuesday night in the 2100 block of Wagner Street.

After police responded they found Robinson in the area of 500 Summerville Street.

He was taken to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries after the shooting but succumbed to his wounds late Wednesday night, the department said.

The incident continues to be investigated by Mobile police.
