The Mobile Police Department reports that it is investigating a fatal shooting at a major intersection early Sunday morning.

According to information released Sunday afternoon, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Hillcrest Road at about 1:38 a.m.

“Upon arrival, officers discovered a 31-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound inside a vehicle,” said a brief statement from police. “The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

As of 2:30 p.m., the identity of the victim had not been released. Police said He would be identified following notification of the next of kin.
