Mobile police: Car left running outside bank; man jumps in and leaves
Mobile police arrested a homeless man after he reportedly stole a vehicle left running outside a bank.
Officers responded to PNC Bank on Highway 90 about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, where they learned the victim had left their vehicle running, doors unlocked, when they went inside the bank.
While inside, the 41-year-old suspect jumped in and took off, according to police.
Using GPS technology, officers tracked the vehicle to a homeless camp near Theodore Dawes Road and Garden Grove Drive. He was taken into custody at the scene.
He remained in the Mobile Metro Jail as of Thursday afternoon, charged with 1st-degree theft of property.
