Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson wants to see the future mayor of Mobile receive a salary that could make the position the highest paid in Alabama.

Stimpson, speaking during the 27th annual State of the City/County Address Thursday, likened the position to a private sector executive and urged the Mobile City Council in the coming weeks to consider increasing the annual salary for mayor from $125,000 to an amount that is “at least” $190,000.
