Mobile man thrown from car charged with murder of woman found shot to death inside wrecked vehicle

A 21-year-old Mobile man is charged with murder in the death of a woman who was found shot to death inside a wrecked vehicle earlier this month.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, the murder warrant for Keeman Marcellus Tover was executed Thursday, but Tover was not booked into Mobile Metro Jail due to the severity of the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Instead, Tover was granted a surety bond. Under the terms of the bond, Tover will be required to wear an electric monitoring device, remain under house arrest, only travel for medical appointments, court appearances and meetings with his attorney, according to court records.

On Dec. 1, Mobile police responded to a report of a crash on Ann Street near the intersection of Elmira Street about 8 a.m.

Officers arriving at the scene found the vehicle had crashed into a tree, with Tover ejected from the vehicle and a woman, 20-year-old Tamichael Latrice Brown, dead inside the vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.

Initial reports indicated Tover told police Brown had shot herself, but Mobile police said Thursday investigators believe Tover shot Brown during a verbal altercation between the two.
