Mobile man charged with murder of Satsuma man during domestic altercation

A domestic dispute between a man and the mother of his child turned deadly Wednesday, leaving a Satsuma man dead and a Mobile man in custody, charged with murder.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were requested to assist the Satsuma Police Department at the scene of a shooting on 3rd Street in Satsuma.

When deputies arrived, the suspect — 25-year-old Emmanuel Campbell — was in custody. The victim, identified as 46-year-old Chad Bahm, was suffering from an unknown number of gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Preliminary investigation, including witness testimony, indicates Campbell had engaged in a domestic altercation with the mother of his child. Members of the woman’s family came to her defense, with Campbell retrieving a firearm from his vehicle and shooting Bahm in the chest.

Campbell remains held without bond in the Mobile Metro Jail pending a Friday bond hearing. He is charged with murder, domestic violence/harassment, and possession of marijuana.
