Mobile legalizes dove, quail hunting inside city limits
Mobile residents will be able to hunt certain kinds of dove and quail inside city limits, after the city council amended its firearms ordinance Tuesday. It’s the latest fallout from Mobile’s move to annex 19,789 residents in west Mobile last year.
“The further west we get, there’s obviously large, open swaths of land where people have traditionally, for years and years, 30, 40, 50 years, their families dove hunted on Saturday mornings or Saturday evenings,” Mobile City Councilmember Josh Woods, who represents some of the annexed areas, said Tuesday. “Accommodating them, I don’t think it’s too hard of an ask.”
