Mobile fight leads to boy, 17, getting shot; girl, 16, attacked with knife
Mobile police said two groups of teen girls got into a fight Monday night, leading to one girl being cut or stabbed multiple times and a 17-year-old male struck by gunfire.
Police responded to a call just after 7 p.m. Monday of a shooting at the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and Maryland Street.
Once they arrived, officers learned the two groups of teen girls had gotten into an altercation, with a 17-year-old girl attacking a 16-year-old girl with a knife, resulting in multiple injuries.
During the altercation, two teenage males produced guns and began firing, with a 17-year-old male struck by gunfire.
Both victims were transported to a hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The 17-year-old female who wielded the knife was taken to Mobile Metro Jail, charged with two counts of assault. Police say the investigation remains open.
