A Mobile County woman convicted last month of fatally shooting her husband in 2016 was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison, according to court records.

Ellen Beckham, 58, of Citronelle, was found guilty by a Mobile County jury in April of shooting and killing her husband, Vincent Beckham.

Ellen Beckham was indicted on murder charges in May 2018. Her husband was fatally shot in April 2016.

She maintained she killed her husband in self-defense, according to WKRG.

Mobile County Circuit Court Judge Charles Graddick sentenced Ellen Beckham to 30 years in a state prison on Monday.
