Mobile County jailer charged with promoting prison contraband

A second Mobile County Metro Jail corrections officer in the last two weeks has been arrested.

Kimberly A. Henderson was arrested and charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, according to Fox10.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson began working as a corrections officer in 2016.

“I will not tolerate bringing contraband into this jail,” Sheriff Paul Burch said. “I will arrest as many as we need to in order to get to the bottom of this case.”

Henderson’s arrest comes after the Aug. 31 arrest of Jessica Monique Odom, 32, an officer charged with trafficking fentanyl, as well as attempting to pass contraband and drugs inside the jail.

Odom was hired as a corrections officer for the MCSO in July 2020. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Authorities reportedly are looking into the possibility that Odom brought the fentanyl into the jail that killed inmate Terrell Markuise Moultrie in July, according to Fox 10.
