One of the Mobile City Council’s longest-serving members announced Tuesday he will not seek re-election in 2025.

Councilman Joel Daves, who was first elected to the seat running unopposed in 2013, announced at the end of the council meeting that he will not seek a fourth term during the next municipal election on Aug. 26, 2025.
