Mobile and Baldwin counties under a high surf warning until Thursday evening
On Wednesday at 4:41 a.m. a high surf warning was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 7 a.m. until Thursday 7 p.m. for Mobile and Baldwin counties.
The weather service states, “Dangerously large breaking waves building to 7 to 10 feet in the surf zone.”
“Breaking waves can sweep people off jetties and docks, and into dangerous seas. Life-threatening swimming conditions and significant beach erosion can be expected. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water,” explains the weather service. “Everyone should remain out of the water due to life-threatening surf conditions. Stay off of jetties, piers, and other waterside infrastructure.”
