MLB bringing Hank Aaron prospects to Rickwood Field for 44 Game
Major League Baseball is returning to Rickwood Field on Wednesday, this time with the best players from the 2025 Hank Aaron Invitational.
The annual showcase for the Hank Aaron Invitational, the 44 Game will be played at 5 p.m. CDT Wednesday at Rickwood Field in Birmingham. Admission will be free.
The game features 44 of the 112 Hank Aaron Invitational participants, including Hoover High School first baseman Will Adams. Heading into his senior season with the Bucs, Adams is committed to LSU.
Adams also participated in last year’s 44 Game, which was played at Truist Park, the Atlanta Braves’ ballpark.
The Hank Aaron Invitational is a joint effort of MLB and the MLB Players Association. A diversity-focused baseball development experience for U.S. high school juniors and seniors, the Hank Aaron Invitational is a program of the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation, which aims to improve the caliber, effectiveness and availability of amateur baseball and softball programs.
A native of Mobile, Aaron is a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He holds the MLB career record for runs batted in and total bases and broke Babe Ruth’s record for career home runs when he hit his 715th on April 8, 1974.
