A Mississippi man was sentenced to 20 years in prison shortly after he was convicted Thursday of killing his ex-wife’s Alabama boyfriend.

Michael Holder was convicted by a Jackson County, Mississippi jury of capital murder and aggravated assault for the 2023 slaying of Logan Wainwright, 22, reported WKRG.

Wainwright, who lived in Mount Vernon, in Mobile County, and was a youth coach in Citronelle, was sitting in his car in Greene County, Mississippi when Holder shot him multiple times in January 2023, according to Fox 10.

The case was moved from Greene County to Jackson County following a mistrial and because Wainwright was well-known in Greene County, according to WKRG.
