Missing Alabama woman may have been intentionally struck by car, man charged with attempted murder

A suspect has been charged in the disappearance of an Alabama woman who was reported missing over the weekend.

Autumn Paige Strickland, 38, has been missing since May 16, Florence police announced Sunday.

She was last seen in the area of North Court Street and has not been heard from since then.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Monday issued a missing and endangered alert for Strickland and said she may be living with a condition that impairs her judgment.

On Tuesday, police announced the arrest of 28-year-old Logan Rogers.

He was taken into custody in the 220 block of North Wood Avenue and is now charged with attempted murder.

Capt. Jason Fort said the investigation into Strickland’s disappearance indicates that she was intentionally struck by a vehicle. She has not yet been found.

“Our detectives are actively pursuing multiple leads and processing scenes in an effort to locate her,” Fort said.

Fort did not release any additional details about the case.

He said officers have worked tirelessly around the clock to follow every lead.

Rogers is being held in the Lawrence County Detention Facility on $1 million bond. Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Rogers and Strickland.

Strickland is described as 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 110 pou9nds. She has brown hair and green eyes.
