Milton-Frank Stadium improvements include new track, scoreboard
There was more for Lee-Huntsville fans to celebrate than just a season-opening victory over Westminster Christian on Friday night. Fans, players, administrators and staff got to see the results of a lot of planning and hard work as renovations to Milton Frank Stadium were unveiled before the 44-34 Lee win over Class 4A No. 8 Westminster.
The stadium improvements included a new jumbotron scoreboard, a new lighting system, bleacher renovations including a new paint job and a new track.
Among the Huntsville City Schools administrators on hand for a ceremonial coin toss were Melissa Veasy-Lindsey, Director of Prevention and Support; A.J. Buckner, Deputy Superintendent; Clarence Sutton Jr., Superintendent; Mac A Howard Jr., Coordinator of Athletics; Dustin Dahne, Deputy Chief Financial Officer; Holly McCarty, District 2 Board Member; Carlos Matthews, District 5 Board Member and Board President; Andrea Alvarez, Board Member District 3; and Billy Priest, Contruction and Maintenance Manager.
The 12,000-seat stadium is home to the Huntsville City Schools system high school and middle school athletic programs.
