Mike Tyson returns to ring, will face Jake Paul on Netflix
Iron Mike is stepping back into the ring.
Mike Tyson will face Jake Paul in a boxing match on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in the main event of a card, officials told ESPN.
The event will be streamed on Netflix.
According to ESPN, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) signed a deal with Netflix for a boxing card last Nov. 1.
“Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a once-in-a-lifetime dream matchup and I anticipate it will be the most-watched boxing event in modern boxing history,” MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement.
Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) has beaten former UFC stars Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley. Paul, who turned pro four years ago, is coming off back-to-back first-round knockouts of Andre August and Ryan Bourland.
Tyson, the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, last fought Roy Jones to a draw in a 2020 boxing match. Perhaps one of the most feared boxers of all time, Tyson will be 58 when he meets the 27-year-old Paul.
