Michigan State players fight Michigan player in tunnel after game: ‘I don’t know what happened’

Things turned violent in the tunnel following Michigan’s 29-7 win over Michigan State on Saturday night.

Multiple players from Michigan State and a single Michigan player got into an altercation in the tunnel. It appears the Michigan player was wearing the No. 1 jersey, reportedly cornerback Ja’Den McBurrows.

“Listen, I don’t know what happened,” Michigan State coach Mel Tucker said after the game. “We tried to get out guys in the locker room. It’s heated. We’ll have to figure out what happened.”

On the field, Blake Corum ran for 177 yards and scored twice, and Jake Moody made five field goals to help No. 4 Michigan remain unbeaten with a win over Michigan State. The Wolverines scored 26 straight points after falling behind briefly late in the first quarter. The Spartans went 0 for 2 on fourth down in the first half. They turned it over on downs after a review of a spot and after coach Mel Tucker chose to go for it instead of kicking a short field goal to tie the game midway through the second quarter.
