Meet the three finalists for Huntsville City Schools superintendent
Interim Superintendent Clarence Sutton is among three finalists to lead Huntsville City Schools on a permanent basis.
The Huntsville City Board of Education is expected to vote as early as June 13 on a successor to retired Superintendent Christie Finley. Birmingham City Schools official Jermaine Dawson and Washington D.C. public schools administrator Bren Elliott are the other two finalists.
School board members will interview the three finalists starting at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the room where the school board meets at Huntsville High School.
The public will be allowed to attend the interviews, Huntsville City Schools attorney Christopher Pape said. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. The interviews will not be live-streamed, but will be recorded, with a link on the Huntsville City Schools website.
“We truly did have applicants from all over the country apply,” Pape said. “We also had local interest with strong applicants.”
