3rd Realm Creations is a virtual reality software development company founded in Mobile around 14 years ago. The company works in the virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and virtual production space. Its LED Wall technology, developed in the Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall allows for film producers to create virtual environments and adjust them in real-time.

Nathaniel Nuon co-founded 3rd Realm Creations in 2009, and last month, the Mobile Chamber awarded it the “Innovator of the Year” prize. Here, Nuon and I discuss the future of 3rd Realm Creations and how the company fits into the landscape of Mobile.

Tell me a little bit about yourself and 3rd Realm Creations.

I grew up around the little city of Bayou La Batre, AL, surrounded by seafood and water. After graduating Alma Bryant high school in Mobile County, I attended Full Sail University in Florida, majoring in Digital Media and Film. Afterwards, I spent a few years freelancing while also doing some film production work.
