Mountain Brook cruised to its third volleyball title in four years and six other Birmingham area teams earned spots in the AHSAA state championship tournament this season.

Class 6A Mountain Brook won previous championships in 2020 and 2021 and also beat perennial champion Bayside Academy in semifinal play this season, breaking the Admirals streak of 21 consecutive state titles and 67 straight state championship tournament match wins.

Class 7A Hoover won to the semifinal round while Spain Park and Thompson each fell in first round play.

Class 6A Shades Valley and McAdory also earned berths in the Elite 8 as did Class 4A Corner.
