Four Birmingham News area football teams played for state championships this season with one title-winner.

Clay-Chalkville won its second Class 6A title in three years while Class 7A Thompson lost to Central-Phenix City after advancing to its sixth straight championship game. Class 5A Ramsay lost to Gulf Shores after winning the 2022 title and Banks Academy lost to Chambers Academy in AISA AA title play.

Class 7A Hewitt-Trussville fell to Thomspon in semifinal action while Hoover and Vestavia Hills each earned a spot in quarterfinal play.

Parker lost to Clay-Chalkville in Class 6A semifinal action and Class 5A Pleasant Grove fell in the quarterfinals.
