Meet the 2023 ASWA Super All-State softball team
Miss Softball and nine of the top players in the state comprise the Alabama Sports Writers Association Super All-State softball team.
Seven seniors, two juniors and a sophomore were named to the team, selected regardless of class or position with only Tuscaloosa County’s Alyssa Faircloth repeating after earning a spot on 2022 Super All-State at Holy Spirit.
The elite competitors combined for impressive numbers both hitting and pitching.
Super All-State hitters totaled 129 home runs with 609 RBIs, 730 hits, 157 doubles, 166-of-178 stolen bases, and 230 walks for a combined batting average of .517 with a .584 on-base, .964 slugging and 1.548 OPS.
Pitchers compiled a 174-42 combined record with 1,879 strikeouts (average of 10.8 per seven innings), 1.35 ERA and had a .187 batting average against in 181-2/3 innings pitched.
Six members played on state championship teams.
