McDonalds is bringing back the Double Big Mac: Here’s when it will be available

Fans of the McDonald’s Big Mac will soon be able to indulge in double the meat.

After a four-year hiatus, McDonald’s is bringing back its Double Big Mac for a limited time at participating locations.

The burger is twice the glory of the fast food classic sandwich, at least in terms of meat. There’s four patties and more Big Mac sauce, but not double the American cheese—there’s only one slice. All that heft is sandwiched between two sesame seed buns.

The Double Big Mac will reappear on McDonald’s menus starting on Jan. 24. So far, the restaurant hasn’t announced which markets will offer the limited-edition sandwich.

The fast food chain has served up different renditions of the Big Mac over the years, including the Chicken Big Mac in 2022, the Mac Jr., made without the middle bun, and the Grand Mac, which had two larger patties on a larger bun, reports USA Today.

News of the Double Big Mac’s return comes on the heels of the chain’s tweaks to four of its classic burgers. Starting this year, the restaurant says its hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, McDouble burger and Big Macs will all have meltier cheese and fresher tomatoes and lettuce. The fast food chain will also add onions to burger patties while the meat is on the grill and grill six patties at a time instead of eight.
