McDonald’s cuts prices with new $5 burger meal deal

Taking aim at lagging demand amid rising prices, McDonald’s is rolling out another lower-cost option for inflation-weary diners.

The burger chain’s latest “Deal Drop” allows customers to get one of five select burgers plus medium fries for $5. The promotion, according to the Irish Times, includes fan favorites like the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, McChicken Sandwich, McPlant, or Filet-O-Fish and will be available until Sunday, March 23.

The offer is exclusively available through the McDonald’s app and is limited to one use per customer each week.

The move is the latest by McDonald’s to lower prices on its food.

Last year, McDonald’s revealed plans for a series of meal deals and in-app exclusives.

“When it comes to value, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all. We’ve worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms,” said Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA in a press release. “From deals on their personal go-to order to universal favorites like the $5 Meal Deal, we’re excited to give fans more ways to save every time they visit one of our restaurants.”
