McDonald’s considering another ‘big’ change to its burgers
McDonald’s may potentially amp up its menu with bigger burgers.
According to Fox Business, McDonald’s CFO Ian Borden said the fast food chain has “created a larger satiating burger” as a way to “further build on our leadership in beef.”
“We’ll be testing this burger in a few markets later this year, ensuring that it has universal appeal before scaling it across the globe,” said Borden.
Earlier this year, McDonald’s reintroduced its Double Big Mac, a colossal sandwich with four hamburger patties and Big Mac sauce.
And if you’ve noticed your burger from McDonald’s tastes a little different, you’re not wrong.
The fast food chain made changes to its classic hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, McDouble burger and Big Mac sandwiches. The biggest tweak—grilling six patties at a time instead of eight. With fewer patties on the grill, the auto-cooking mechanism will apply less pressure, and restaurant executives say the new practice will yield bigger, juicer burgers.
Other changes coming to the sandwiches: buttery brioche buns sliced with a thicker bottom, meltier cheese, and fresher tomatoes and lettuce
