McAdory shocks 6A No. 3 Paul Bryant with late 3-point play
McAdory’s Jacorey Whitted was fouled on a 3-foot basket with .3 seconds left and converted the ensuing free throw to give the Yellow Jackets an improbable 47-46 win over Paul Bryant in Class 6A Central Regional action on Thursday morning.
Whitted had missed his previous four free throw attempts before the game-winner.

Paul Bryant led 40-38 midway through the final quarter and decided to run clock with a four-corner offense. The Stampede didn’t score another basket, converting 6-of-8 free throws.
Whitted scored the final 5 points for McAdory, his 4-footer with 16.6 seconds left closing the margin to 45-44. Paul Bryant’s Adrian Wooley missed the second of his two free throws with 10.1 seconds left, setting up the final play.
Whitted led all scorers with 20 points, making 9-of-11 field goals, while Tristan Gilmore added 11 points.
Wooley led Paul Bryant with 14 points and converted 6-of-7 free throws.
