McAdory out of soccer playoffs after self-reporting violation, Calera advances
McAdory self-reported a violation of AHSAA eligibility rules and has voluntarily removed its boys soccer team from the Class 6A state soccer playoffs.
Three student-athletes on McAdory’s soccer team participated in a local outside soccer league throughout the 2023 season while also participating in 19 McAdory High School soccer matches after violating the rule.
Calera, which was scheduled to play McAdory in the third round of playoffs on Thursday, advances to next week’s semifinals in Huntsville.
McAdory is forfeiting all games won in which the ineligible students participated. The season has now ended for the soccer team.
