Maybelline faces boycott over transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney

Makeup company Maybelline is the latest company to face boycotts over a sponsorship with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Mulvaney, who has some 1.8 million followers on Instagram, posted a short video last month of her applying the brand’s cosmetics and “getting glam,” CBS News reported. Now, users on social media are calling for a boycott of Maybelline.

“Now that your makeup appears to be for men @Maybelline, I guess you don’t need female customers anymore. Thanks for letting us know,” a Twitter user said, adding #boycottmaybelline.

Beer maker Anheuser-Busch is facing a similar boycott after Mulvaney endorsed its Bud Light brand online. Two Bud Light executives are currently on a leave of absence over their partnership deal that led to sales of the beer dropping by a reported 17%.
