Thirteen players from the state of Alabama were recognized on the annual MaxPreps All-America softball team.

The company has a first team, second team and honorable mentions based on selections across the country; 85 athletes were recognized, along with honorable mentions.

West Limestone’s Lilly Bethune, Curry’s Ambrey Taylor — named 2025 Miss Softball– and Orange Beach duo K.G. Favors and Katie King were named to the first team.

All three players played in a loaded Class 4A, with Bethune being named 4A Hitter of the Year and Favors earning 4A Pitcher of the Year honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

Corey Goguts of Hewitt-Trussville, Gerritt Griggs of Central-Phenix City, Ava Hodo of Orange Beach, Aubree Hooks of Thompson and Kendall Trimm of Moody were all second-team honorees.

Griggs was named Class 7A Player of the Year, with Goguts earning 7A Hitter of the Year honors. Hooks and Hodo were first-team all-state picks as well.

Honorable mentions from the state include Meg Fountain (T.R. Miller), Class 7A Pitcher of the Year Vic Moten (Daphne), Class 3A Player of the Year Emily Needham (Saint James) and Teagan Revette (Orange Beach).

Coahoma High (Texas) star and University of Texas signee Hannah Wells was named MaxPreps National Player of the Year.

MaxPreps also released its final national rankings of the season last week, with Orange Beach ranking No. 2 behind Texas power Melissa High.

The Class 4A champions finished as the No. 1-ranked team last season.

Class 7A champion Thompson finished ranked No. 7 in the nation, with Moody (No. 26) and Curry (No. 47) also ranking among the top 50.
