Massive Madison entertainment venue Insanity Complex suddenly closes

A longtime Madison venue for family friendly entertainment and events has shut its doors for good.

Insanity Complex, 100 Skate Park Drive, announced on social media Thursday that it has closed, effective immediately.

“This difficult decision was made with great care, and we are deeply grateful to our customers, employees, and partners for your support,” said a post on its Facebook page. “We’ve loved being a place where families gathered, friends laughed, and milestones were celebrated … we hope the memories are truly unforgettable.”

The sudden announcement drew heat on social media, with several posters on the venue’s Facebook page asking for refunds of upcoming events that they said they had paid for. No public response was given on the page as of early Friday. Two posts on the Huntsville subreddit have drawn more than 50 comments.

The facility, on 28 acres in downtown Madison, opened in 2015. Offerings included two roller rinks, a rock climbing wall, arcade and outdoor skate park.

A call to the venue’s phone number was not answered Friday morning.
