Maryland’s Taulia Tagovailoa carted off field after apparent knee injury
Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa was carted off the field with an apparent knee injury Saturday during the fourth quarter of Maryland’s home game against Indiana.
Tagovailoa was 25-for-39 passing for 270 yards and two touchdowns. Indiana held a 27-24 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Maryland and Indiana both started fast. On Saturday they’ll both have a chance to rebound from their recent struggles. The Terrapins have lost two of three. Those two losses have been by a total of nine points. Indiana followed three straight wins with three straight losses. Coach Tom Allen then fired his offensive line coach. The Hoosiers have allowed the most sacks in the Big Ten.
Tagovailoa threw for a career best 419 yards in last season’s 38-35 victory over the Hoosiers and enters this week ranked in the FBS’ top 25 in completion percentage (74.1), completions per game (24.3), yards passing (1,731) and total offense (303.2).
