Markets pick up steam on Thursday. Did local companies follow suit?
Stocks swept higher Thursday, revving the longest rally for Wall Street in a year and a half into a higher gear.
The S&P 500 rallied 1.2% to reach heights untouched since April 2022.
In stocks of local interest, Target, Adtran and Synovus Financial Corp., all enjoyed gains of more than 3% on Thursday.
Adtran, a Huntsville-based telecommunications equipment company, was up 3.4%to close at $10.91
Target’s rebound from its recent 52-week low continued with a 3.5% increase to close at $137.84.
And Synovus Financial Corp., which is based in Columbus, Ga., and operates with 32 branches in 20 different cities and towns in the state of Alabama, was up 3.2%, closing at $31.42.
