Mark Ingram let out of Bama bet by former Michigan star

Former Alabama All-American Mark Ingram was rolling with the Crimson Tide, of course, in the College Football Playoff for the 2023 season. But when Alabama lost to Michigan 27-20 in overtime at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, that put Ingram on the wrong end of a bet with another former Pro Bowler, Taylor Lewan.

But it’s a bet that Ingram won’t have to pay – almost.

TMZ Sports had a camera at the scene when Ingram ran into Lewan. The Sunday video showed Ingram telling Lewan that he needed “to pay my debt to you.”

“We’re good,” Lewan said. “Just come on the podcast sometime this year, we’ll call it even.”

Lewan is the host of the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast.

“Mark has become somewhat of a friend,” Lewan said after Ingram moved on. “Obviously, Derrick Henry as well. Obviously, when you play sports there’s a confidence that you have – a delusional confidence. And Alabama’s been running it for so long, and it happened to be Michigan’s year, so we put a bet in. And after – I told Derrick the same thing – I don’t want the money, I’d rather you guys come on the show because those are great dudes and their personalities being shown is the most unbelievable thing.”

Henry and Lewan spent seven seasons as teammates on the Tennessee Titans, with Henry at running back and Lewan at left offensive tackle.

Henry appeared on “Bussin’ with the Boys” in January.

Lewan was a Michigan standout before his nine-season NFL career.

Ingram and Henry won the Heisman Trophy at Alabama. Ingram won the award while playing for the Tide’s 2009 BCS national-championship team, and Henry won it while playing for Alabama’s 2015 CFP national-championship team.

Ingram transitioned to college football TV analyst in 2023 after 12 NFL seasons. Henry completed his eighth NFL season in 2023 with his fourth Pro Bowl selection.
