March Madness: Sister Jean picks SEC team to win NCAA tournament
Sister Jean didn’t shy away from the tough questions during an interview with “Good Morning America” on Monday.
The 103-year-old team chaplain for Loyola Chicago, who was promoting her new memoir “Wake Up with Purpose: What I’ve Learned in My First Hundred Years,” was asked her pick for the upcoming NCAA tournament.
“Right now, it looks to me as though Kentucky will,” Sister Jean said.
The Wildcats are certainly trending. No. 23 Kentucky (20-9) returned to the poll after a seven-week absence. Kentucky had a rapid fall from being No. 4 in the preseason poll but reeled off wins over Mississippi State, No. 12 Tennessee, Florida and Auburn.
Kentucky hosts Vanderbilt on Wednesday before traveling to Arkansas to end the regular season.
Sister Jean became a household name during Loyola Chicago’s memorable 2018 Final Four run.
In “Wake Up with Purpose: What I’ve Learned in My First Hundred Years,” Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt tells her life story, offers spiritual guidance and shares some of the lessons she’s learned.
