The Samford Bulldogs have a message for the college basketball-watching world. And, if you agree with it, then you can help spread the word.

Samford posted to social media it is selling a T-shirt that reads, “All Heart. All Ball.”

Accompanying the message is the visual of Samford’s A.J. Staton-McCray running down Kansas’s Nicolas Timberlake and blocking his layup from behind.

In reality, of course, referee Lamar Simpson, who was trailing the play, blew his whistle with 14.7 seconds left in the NCAA Tournament’s first-round game on Thursday night.

The call led to two free throws that gave Kansas a three-point lead. Replays from a number of angles showed no contact on the play that sent Timberlake crashing to the floor.

The fourth-seeded Jayhawks took advantage of the phantom foul in the waning seconds for a 93-89 victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The 13th-seeded Bulldogs used their frenetic press and deep bench to trim a 22-point deficit to one with less than a minute left. They were trapping Kansas in the backcourt when Timberlake took a long pass in stride as he was streaking toward the basket.

In the end, Samford, champion of the Southern Conference, was denied the first tournament victory in program history.
