March Madness odds: See which of the record 14 SEC teams is favored to win it all

The SEC had the most outstanding performance in college basketball history during the 2024-25 regular season. Now comes the hard part. What will the SEC do for an encore in March Madness?

A record 14 SEC teams made the Field of 64 following a regular season in which the conference recorded a +21.45 KenPom rating. The ACC set the previous record of +21.37 in 1996-97. To put that into context, the second-best conference rating (by the Big Ten) did not even reach 19.

Regular season champion Auburn (+400) earned the No. 1 overall seed. However, fellow No. 1 seed and SEC Tournament champion Florida (+380) has the better chance of winning it all, according to the latest March Madness odds. The other 12 SEC teams are spread throughout the bracket.

Let’s look at the SEC odds versus the field, courtesy of the best March Madness betting sites.

Duke has the best national championship odds at all the top online sportsbooks. The SEC is not far behind.

Florida and Auburn are second and third, followed by Houston in fourth. After that, there is a drop-off, but two more SEC teams (Alabama and Tennessee) are at the top of the second tier.

SEC national championship odds range from Florida at +380 to Texas at 600-to-1.

Although it seems more likely that Florida or Auburn will win the national championship, Alabama has significant value with +2200 odds. The Crimson Tide sputtered in the final two weeks of the regular season but rallied to beat Auburn and then dominated Kentucky in the SEC Tournament. Grant Nelson’s return from injury will be critical.

You can also bet on SEC teams to make the Final Four. Give a good look to Texas A&M at +1600. The Aggies beat some great teams this season, including Auburn. Those two could meet again in the South Region Sweet 16.
