March Madness: Auburn’s Bruce Pearl’s comments to Allie LaForce cause social media stir

Bruce Pearl’s comments early in Auburn’s NCAA Tournament against Creighton on Saturday drew quite the reaction on social media.

During an early media timeout, Allie LaForce asked the Tigers coach about containing Ryan Kalkbrenner, who the Auburn had held to just two field-goal attempts at that point.

“First, I’d rather comment on this,” Pearl said about LaForce’s outfit. “It’s so institutionally neutral, you got every color in the building covered.”

LaForce replied, “I’m an objective reporter, coach.”

He then answered the quesiton.

“Kalkbrenner?” Pearl asked. “We’re doing a good job of trying to front him out of the post. You got to get out there and switch out of the 3 balls. This team can’t beat us from 2, but they can from 3.”

Pearl’s comments to LaForce appear to be taken a couple of different ways by social media users.
