Man, woman arrested for 2-state crime spree, Tennessee officials say

Authorities in Tennessee have arrested a man and woman who they say darted over between Alabama and Tennessee while they carried out a three-county crime spree.

The Lincoln County (Tenn.) Sheriff’s Office arrested Henry Dwayne Thompson and Teresa Baker on Tuesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, a Lincoln County deputy initiated a traffic stop and the driver initially refused to halt the vehicle. Then the two fled on foot. They were taken into custody using the sheriff’s K-9 Handlers after a brief foot pursuit.

Investigators suspect the two carried out “numerous” thefts in Madison County, and Giles and Lincoln County, Tenn., avoiding capture by fleeing between state lines.

The two are suspected in the theft of trailers, campers and vehicles from all three counties. Three vehicles, two trailers and a camper have been recovered in Lincoln County, authorities said.

Thompson and Baker are currently being held without bond.
