A body found Sunday in an abandoned house is now the subject of a homicide investigation after an autopsy revealed the male victim had died from a gunshot wound, Mobile police said Wednesday.

Officers responded to an abandoned house on Duncan Street about 8:30 p.m. Sunday after someone reported the body inside. The victim had no ID, but was later identified as 21-year-old Jermont Lamar.

No other details were immediately available.
