Man sought after 2 women groped on Auburnâs Samford Avenue
Police are searching for a man suspected of inappropriately touching two different females on Auburn’s Samford Avenue.
At about 10 a.m. Wednesday, a female pedestrian was walking in the vicinity of East Samford Avenue and Pinedale Drive when she reported an incident of inappropriate touching.
The suspect, described as a Black male with shoulder length dreadlocks and wearing dark clothing, groped the victim.
Then, about 6 p.m., a different female pedestrian reported a similar incident on Samford Avenue near Chewacla Drive and Hillcrest Drive, police said.
The woman was reportedly grabbed by the man, who emerged from the nearby bushes.
Police said the description of the suspect closely matches the one provided in the earlier incident.
“The Auburn Police Department places a high priority on investigating these incidents and ensuring the safety and security of our community,’’ according to statement released by the department. “Our officers are actively following leads and collaborating with partner organizations to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for these unsettling actions. Increased patrols have been deployed in the affected areas.”
