A man was critically injured in a shooting Saturday afternoon in Ensley.

The gunfire erupted before 5:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Avenue L.

The victim, believed to be in his early 20s, was taken to UAB Hospital where he was undergoing surgery. Police said he was shot multiple times, and his injuries are considered life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.
