A man was found shot to death Sunday afternoon in the driveway of a vacant home in northeast Jefferson County.

Deputies responded just before 3 p.m. to a report of shots fired and a person down in the 5700 block of Dewey Heights Road.

They arrived to find the man – whose identity has not yet been released – unresponsive in the driveway. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Lt. Joni Money said witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area. Law enforcement radio communicates indicated as many as 20 shots were fired.

No arrests have been made.
