Man seriously wounded in shooting outside Birmingham nightclub

An investigation is underway after an early-morning shooting outside a Birmingham nightclub.

The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of Ninth Street North. That location is near Platinum of Birmingham.

Officer De’Rell Freeman said an argument inside the club spilled outside to where multiple shots were fired.

The victim, and adult male, was taken to UAB Hospital with a life-threatening injury.

No arrests have been announced.
