A 36-year-old man was killed when his car overturned and landed in a west Birmingham creek over the weekend.

Daniel Jah Brown died Sunday morning in Village Creek, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

West Precinct Officers were dispatched just before 10 a.m. to a report of a wreck Avenue W and 10th Way.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said Brown’s vehicle left the road, hit a utility police and came to a rest upside down in the creek.

Brown was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:09 p.m.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Birmingham police are investigating.
