Man killed in wreck with tractor-trailer Wednesday near Montgomery

A 60-year-old man died early Wednesday morning after the vehicle he was driving got in an accident involving a tractor-trailer near Montgomery, authorities said Wednesday night.

William D. Feagin, 60, of Andalusia, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Highway 31 near the 172-mile marker, about five miles south of Montgomery, said Sgt. Jeremy Burkett with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Feagin was driving a 2015 Hyundai Sonata on the highway around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle left the roadway and reentered it before overturning, Burkett said.

The vehicle was then struck by a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

Feagin was not wearing his seatbelt, authorities said.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the wreck.
